However, the CPR component (HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) within this course is recommended to be refreshed annually to ensure lifesaving skills remain sharp and aligned with the latest Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines — and many workplaces also require annual CPR updates for compliance.
Are There Any Entry Requirements for the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid Course?
There are no formal education prerequisites, but to successfully complete the course, participants should:
- Have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) — this is required for issuing the nationally recognised certificate
- Be physically able to perform two minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult and infant manikin on the floor (kneeling)
- Have basic language, literacy and communication skills to follow instructions and complete assessments
